Why you SHOULD watch ‘The Hobbit- The Battle of the Five Armies’
If you have read the book you know its amazing. But if you have seen the first 2 parts of this movie franchise then you are eagerly awaiting for the 3rd and final part, The Battle of the Five Armies. Being one of the lucky few to be selected by Warner Bros in India to preview the movie before it releases in the country, I can assure you that it will be worth your money.
Staying true to its name the entire movie is a battle. The point where Desolation of Smaug concluded with Bilbo whispering with the horror stricken face, “What have we done?” while looking at Smaug flying towards the Lake-town to destroy it, the final part of the franchise opens with the same exact shot! And its all climatic from that point onwards.
Directed by Peter Jackson the movie is made to engross the audiences. You would be a part of the movie, even if you know what’s going to happen you would want to see it. The cinematography is done brilliantly. Benedict Cumberbatch has voiced and motion acted for Smaug the Dragon with brilliance. Major points to him for making the anti-hero of the movie so… elegant? Yeah, elegant is the word. Smaug is so well filmed using the motion capture technology. Right from his expressions to dialogues to every tiny detail on his skin, everything is taken care of. And rightly so, after all we are all fascinated by the dragons. Good or bad.
Needless to say the quality of the movie is at par with its predecessors. The human need to fight for what he believes in and belongs to is enormous. Story is, well of course its a good one, most of us have read the book. The entire cast has done a splendid job. Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins looked every bit as nervous, brave and awkward as you would expect a well behaved Hobbit to be and sometimes all this at once! He proved to be the stealthy burglar that G andalf (Ian McKellen) wanted Thorin (Richard Armitage) to recruit and some more.
We, the lucky few after watching the movie at Dolby Theatres!
I especially like the part where Legolas (Orlando Bloom) engages with the Orcs to protect Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly). The choreography done for the battle is vicious and graceful at the same time. This is the movie everyone who has followed the franchise will watch for obvious fandom reasons. And people who haven’t watched the franchise till now, you should watch the first 2 parts and then go for this one and justify its scale by watching it on 70mm big screen!
And post that feel free to share your take on the movie in the comment section below.
